Compassion Canada is hosting a Mother’s Day fundraising lunch at the Burlington Convention Centre on Sunday, May 12.

The event, titled ‘Change Her Story: A Mother’s Day Fundraising Luncheon’, will be sharing all ticket sales with Compassion Canada’s Survival program, which provides funding for mothers and young children living in poverty who need food and medical care.

The luncheon will feature a speech by Ann Voskamp, a New York Times bestselling author whose book One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are has sold over 1.5 million copies.

All ticket proceeds will go toward supporting Compassion's survival program. This is made possible by Burlington Convention Centre who are covering the costs of the meal, staffing and venue. Through Compassion's Survival program, these funds provide moms and babies living in poverty with life-transforming support, including pre- and post-natal care, life-saving medical interventions and nutritious food.

Compassion Canada works with more than 8,000 churches around the world to provide unique care to over two million children and youth globally. Their 'Job Skills Training For Moms' program currently accepts donations to provide tools and training for mothers to learn new skills to help secure jobs.
