Retiree Ronald Murrell, 88, said Crossword Tripler is his favourite instant ticket.

A Burlington man is celebrating after winning the $100,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Tripler (Game #3300).

Ronald Murrell, 88, said when it comes to instant tickets, Crossword Tripler is his favourite.

The retiree took his daughter out for coffee and decided to stop to get tickets on the way home, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. said in a news release.

“I purchased the last two tickets they had in stock,” Murrell said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall.

When he discovered he had won big, Murrell checked his ticket five times to make sure it wasn’t a mistake.

He called his daughter, saying, “I have to show you something!” and surprised her with the win.

Murrell shared the news with the rest of his family. “They were all so excited for me,” he said.

The father of three plans to help his family and enjoy some horse racing with his winnings.

“It’s a great feeling when you win,” Murrell concluded.

Instant Crossword Tripler is available for $5 a play.

The winning ticket was purchased at Husky on Lakeshore Road in Burlington.
