Due to the worsening winter weather condiiions, all branches of the Burlington Public Library will close at 2 p.m. today (Jan. 25)

Patrons who have a hold item with a pick-up date that expires today are advised that the pick-up deadline is extended to Thursday, Jan. 26.

During severe weather, the library advises checking whether branches remain open or planning to close early in one of three  ways:

  • Visit the library's website, Facebook, and Twitter pages.
  • Call Central Library at 905-639-3611. If the library is closed or closing for the day, there will be a recorded message on the main telephone line.
  • Tune in to a local news station and their social media for winter storm closure updates: CHML 900, Y108, Y95.3, Global News, CHCH TV.
