Halton's Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network (SYMN) is hosting a series of special sessions this week to mark Guru Purnima and honour the teachings of their founder, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi.

The program includes a spiritual evening of meditation and self-realization at The Orchard Community Hub this evening (July 12) from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

"Guru Purnima, celebrated this year on July 3, is a time when we honour our spiritual and academic gurus," says Ioana Popa, volunteer coordinator and instructor for SYMN. "As part of this event, we will pay homage to Shri Mataji, our beloved Guru, and delve into her profound teachings."

Local residents who wish to learn more can visit the SYMN website and blog.

The July 12 session will include an opportunity to meditate, listen and experience. It starts at 7:30 p.m. at The Orchard Hub in St. Christopher's Catholic Elementary School, 2400 Sutton Dr.
