The Burlington OPP Highway Safety Division is currently reporting 40 collisions on GTA roads due to weather conditions.
"Fortunately, no incidents with serious injuries," said HSD Sgt. Kerry Schmidt in a Twitter post just before 5 p.m. today (Jan. 25).
As the snow continues to fall, salters and plows are trying to keep up but the conditions remain icy and slick, he added.
"If you are out on the roads or are going to be out this evening, please drive with extreme care and caution," said Schmidt. "Drive to to those conditions, make sure your headlights are on and give yourself lots of distance behind traffic in front of you.
"If you don't need to go out tonight, wait for the system to pass."
