Smile Cookie campaign takes a bite out of hunger in Burlington

Tim Hortons restaurant owners team up to raise over $144K for the Burlington Food Bank

Local Tim Hortons restaurant owners reached a new milestone with the 2023 Smile Cookie Campaign, raising more than ever to support those who go hungry in the community.

Today (May 31) they celebrated that victory and presented a cheque for $144,929 to the Burlington Food Bank at the Burloak Drive location. More than 25 Tim Hortons locations in Burlington participated in the annual Tim Hortons week-long campaign held May 1-7.

The accomplishment, owners agreed, wouldn’t have been possible without the “unwavering support of our community, dedicated volunteers, and the fantastic team at Tim Hortons.”

As the campaign launch May 1, the goal was to sell 67,000 cookies across the city and raise $100,000. Last year's total locally was $89,700.

“We want to publicly acknowledge and thank all those who have contributed to this remarkable success,” said Jon Williams, Burlington Food Bank marketing and community fundraising manager. “Together, we can continue making a positive impact in the lives of our Burlington community members.”
