Halton police charge 2 suspects with weapons-related offences

Investigation of convenience store turned up prohibited items

Various prohibited weapons were seized after police launched an investigation into a store selling prohibited weapons.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made a pair of arrests and laid charges after an investigation into a store selling prohibited weapons.

On February 2, 2023, investigators with the 3 District (Burlington) Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at the [a convenience store] in Burlington. As a result of the search, police seized the following items (see attached photo):

  • five butterfly knives
  • 21 brass knuckles
  • 53 flick or torsion bar knives
  • six spring assisted telescopic batons
  • one single handed crossbow

All of these weapons are prohibited as defined by the Criminal Code and were on display for sale.

On Feb. 2, 2023, [Charges withdrawn] both of Burlington, were arrested and each have been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of weapons trafficking.
