Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) is home to the magnificent Lilac Dell, boasting one of the world's largest and most diverse collections of lilacs. These breathtaking displays, which depend on weather conditions, typically bloom from mid-May to June, filling over three acres of the Katie Osborne Lilac Collection.

Take a guided tour or Burlington's Lilac Dell at the Royal Botanical Gardens with with Burlington Realtor® and host of The Genuine Realtor® Show, Rochelle Edwards above!

“The Katie Osborne Lilac Trust was created in 1964 to expand and maintain the Royal Botanical Gardens' lilacs for years to come,” explains Edwards. “In 1959, there were 230 plants relocated to accommodate the expansion of the 403 highway, creating the start of what we get to enjoy today. It is now the stunning collection of over 600 varieties of lilacs, making this one of the most diverse dells in the world.”

Beyond the lilacs, RBG offers visitors a wealth of attractions during the spring months. With kilometres of trails to explore, scenic waterfront views, and rolling landscapes, the arboretum provides a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts and visitors alike.
