Alton Village student projects show commitment to taking care of earth, nature

More than 400 people showed up to the eco fair that saw several displays created by students

More than 400 people showed up to a spring eco fair at Alton Village Public School on Thursday evening.

Intermediate teacher Alison Wojkowski organized the event at the north Burlington school. Students prepared projects to display that showed a sincere willingness to do whatever it takes to protect the earth.

The school partnered with several local groups that foster a desire to save the earth, including BurlingtonGreen, Conservation Halton, Soaps by Nature and Backed by Bees.

The walk-through vendor fair and student sustainability leaderships displays were impressive. The evening included a screening of the CBC documentary, Curb Your Carbon.

An impressive wind farm model was located in the lobby of the school.
