LETTER: Have the parking rules changed downtown?

BurlingtonToday received the following letter about downtown parking.

What is up with the parking meters downtown at the lot on Pearl Street?

For the first time in a while, my wife and I went with out-of-town friends to have lunch in the village area on Pearl Street.

Tried to pay at two different locations in and around the lot. The machines would not accept my credit card. This was also the case for other users who were trying to pay for parking.

Is it that parking is free at these locations during the week?
