Burlington Central honours 21 alumni who made the ultimate sacrifice

Cenotaph service remembers those who served during the Second World War

More than 360 students from Burlington Central High School served in the armed forces during the Second World War. Twenty one of them perished.

Those BCHS alumni who paid the ultimate price to defend their country were honoured Sunday morning at the Cenotaph in Civic Square as part of the 100th anniversary reunion ceremonies. Current students read biographies of each BCHS student who perished.

More than 4,000 guests were expected to attend the reunion activities, which ran all weekend.
