Burlington is number one on the list of the province's top places to live for work/life balance. This is the view from Kerncliffe Park in north Burlington.

Balancing professional and personal life might be a bit easier in Milton.

A new report from real estate data website Point2 reveals that Milton is among the top places in Ontario for the best work-life balance, though it trails other Halton municipalities — with Burlington topping the list.

Point2 ranked the country’s top 100 largest municipalities for the best work-life balance based on 30 key metrics — covering work intensity, health and well-being and livability. The study looked at factors such as work hours, life expectancy, perceived life stress, air quality, crime severity index and cost of living.

Here’s the top 10 list in Ontario:

1. Burlington
2. Aurora
3. Newmarket
4. Caledon
5. Oakville
6. Halton Hills
7. Milton
8. Ottawa
9. Vaughan
10. Mississauga

According to the study, Burlington has a balanced mix of positive health perceptions, with 93 per cent of residents reporting “high levels of life satisfaction.”

Burlington also lands in the top 10 list nationally, while Milton is at 23. The top-ranking municipality in Canada is Lévis in Quebec, while Sarnia comes in last.
