GALLERY: Burlington and Apeldoorn remain the best of friends

The ties between Canada and the Netherlands remain strong, and that friendship was celebrated at a special event Saturday (May 13).

This year's Canada Netherlands Friendship Day marked the 18th anniversary of the City of Burlington’s twinning agreement with the city of Apeldoorn and recognized the 78th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War.

Guests gathered for the free event at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. The festivities included greetings and presentations by dignitaries, a student art exhibition and a performance by the Burlington Teen Tour Band.
