GALLERY: Sunrise service honours naval veterans

Remembrance Day ceremony at the Naval Memorial Monument in Spencer Smith Park rings the bell for ships lost at sea

The Burl-Oak Naval Veterans marked Remembrance Day with a service at the Naval Ships Memorial Monument in Spencer Smith Park this morning.

Dignitaries in attendance included members of the RCMP, Mayor Marianne Meed Ward, MP Karina Gould, MPP Natalie PIerre and local councillors. The procession and service included Reviewing Officer LCDr Kevin Ng, Parade Commander Mike Vencel and bugler Ken Laing, with closing remarks by Burl-Oak Naval Veterans Chair Fred Norman.
