Halton yoga group rings in 2024 with free workshops

The community is invited to the Earth and Sun guided meditation on Jan. 27

Holiday celebrations continued this month, as the Sahaja Yoga Meditation 100 Seeds of Joy program  marked both the Jan. 1 holiday and  the Orthodox New Year on Jan. 14.

Community members came together at the Orchard Hub in Burlington  to share traditions, meditate and work on seasonal crafts to mark the occasion.

The 100 Seeds of Joy Program also had a special session on Jan. 14 in Oakville for the Makar Sankranti Festival, a South-Asian cultural event that celebrates the sun and earth.

Burlington residents are invited to a free public workshop dedicated to the Makar Sankranti Festival and the significance it holds for those who practise yoga.

The Earth and Sun Guided Meditation takes place Jan. 27 at The Orchard Hub from 11 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. Participants are invited to bring a fruit, vegetable or plant for a simple and fun activity.

For more information, visit the 100 Seeds of Joy website.
