Police pulled a 21-year-old man from Lake Ontario on Saturday.

A 21-year-old man drowned in Lake Ontario near Burlington Lift Bridge on Saturday (June 17), Halton Regional police have confirmed. 

Police found the man in the water at approximately 7:30 p.m.  

Marine unit officers pulled the man from the water and transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, the man had been on a personal watercraft, or water scooter, prior to the incident. 

No information is available regarding whether the man had crashed the watercraft, or had fallen and been injured.
