Santa comes to town Sunday - here's the parade info you need to know

Road closures and restrictions will be in effect on downtown Burlington streets starting at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3

Are you ready? The Santa Claus Parade comes to downtown Burlington this Sunday afternoon.

The jolly old elf makes his grand entrance for the holidays, at the Burlington Santa Claus Parade this Sunday.

The marching starts promptly at 2 p.m. on  Dec. 3, with bands, floats, dancers and much more hitting the streets. Great viewing spots line the route, which is:

  • Parade begins at Guelph Line from Prospect Street to New Street
  • New Street from Guelph Line to Martha Street
  • James Street from Martha Street to Brant Street
  • Brant Street from James to Caroline
  • Concludes Brant Street at Caroline Street.

Road closures and restrictions will be in effect along the parade route from  11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be restricted or limited access at the parade staging area at Prospect and Cumberland Avenue, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Click here for the full road closure details.

Kids are encouraged to bring their letters to Santa, which will be collected by Canada Post letter carriers along the parade  route.

There will also be several opportunities for families to give back to the community. The Burlington Teen Tour Boosters will be collecting non-perishable items in support of the Burlington Food Bank and representatives of the Burlington Oldtimers Hockey Cub will  be collecting cash donations in support of the parade on behalf of the parade organizing committee.
