Thousands attend Burlington Remembrance Day procession, service

Two minutes of silence observed at Veteran Square

Thousands of Burlington residents lined Brant Street Saturday morning to honour those who fought for their freedom.

An hour-long ceremony at Veteran Square was preceded by a parade from Baldwin Street to City Hall. The Burlington Teen Tour Band, two armoured personnel carriers, and several branches of service made the one-kilometre trek.

Members of the military and local dignitaries laid dozens of wreaths at the monument.
