Burlington volleyballer Zicari earns OCAA Star of the Week nod

Nelson grad led Mohawk Mountaineers to win over Conestoga

Burlington’s Lexie Zicari had a season-high 16 kills to lead the Mohawk Mountaineers to a four-set victory over the Conestoga Condors Nov. 29. The Nelson High School grad also matched her season high in digs with 12 to earn Ontario Colleges Athletic Association star of the week honours.

Zicari also had three service aces and now ranks third in the OCAA with 32. The third-year outside hitter also ranks among the top 10 in the OCAA in kills (108) and kills per set (3.09), points (141) and points per set (4.0).

The win improved Mohawk to 7-4 and moved the Mountaineers into a third-place tie with Conestoga in the OCAA West Division.
