Books, activities and programs make adding the library to your summer routine fun.

After a whirlwind end to the school year, it can take time to find your groove with a summer routine.

Visiting the library regularly is a great way to add focus and fun to your weekly schedule so summer doesn’t slip away from you.

Here are three ways you can make Burlington Public Library a regular part of your summer plans.

  1. Join Summer Reading Club! This is a free program for all ages. You can sign up online or in person, set a reading goal, and track your progress. While you can log your reading online each week, visiting the library to do a personal reading check in with a staff member is an excellent way to reinforce a positive reading habit. Did we mention you can win prizes?
  2. Try new activities with help from library books! Plan a weekly visit to your local branch to check out a book on a new activity or hobby. Then bring it home and try putting what you’ve read into practice. Borrow a book about making slime and then get messy! Check out a new cookbook and try a challenging recipe! Find a book about tying knots and practice your new skill outdoors! The options are as endless as your imagination.
  3. Add library programs to your calendar. Burlington Public Library has dozens of programs for all ages — from drop-in puppet shows to dance parties to gardening workshops — and they are all free! Some programs require registration so make sure you’re signed up for the library’s e- newsletter to be notified when new programs are added.

Burlington Public Library has branches open seven days a week, all summer long. You can find hours for our local branch on the library’s website.
