PETS PROJECT: Leonidas needs a helping hand

Goal is to raise $10,000 to help pay for veterinary tests and medical care

As many of you know if you’ve seen my story, I’m a little stray that was brought into Burlington Humane Society. Turns out, I’m not doing great. At only just over a year old, I’m going through lots of investigation to figure out why I’m not like other cats (I’ve got an adorable, but concerning, head tilt).

I’m on medication to treat Toxoplasmosis (just in case that’s what’s going on; as smart as my doctors are, they haven’t ruled this out)!

I went to a very fancy vet clinic on Jan. 31 for a specialized assessment. Then I went to another place on Feb. 6 and then I went for an MRI to look at my brain on Feb. 9. The smart doctors found out I have some scar tissue in my inner ear (which may be the reason why my head tilts the way it does). But they haven't ruled out a tumor, and we're waiting for more information to figure that out. The estimate for just these tests was approximately $4,200. My vets do the procedures in steps so they can see what each test tells them.

So far, I’ve been told that there are amazing people who’ve donated their very own money to help me (they must know I don’t have a job). I can’t thank them enough!

My worry is that people have forgotten about me. I’m not out of the woods yet.  I’m still in the diagnostic stage and I’m hoping people are willing to help me get the care I desperately need…the amount they donate doesn't matter. If each resident in Burlington donated just 25¢, it would total almost $46,000! Way more than I need (our target goal is $10,000).

I’ll definitely repay you but be warned, I pay in fishy-flavoured sloppy kisses and snuggles! You can donate here: https://gofund.me/685b70d6.

Thank you very much!!
