PETS PROJECT: Primrose is a darling, despite painful leg fractures

Gorgeous long-haired cat arrived at Burlington Humane's shelter with severe injuries

You never know who will show up at Burlington Humane.

We received a beautiful long haired black and white cat we named Primrose. She is as delicate as she is gorgeous. When she arrived, she was not able to put any weight on one of her front paws. We immediately suspected a fracture, which is very painful. Despite her injury, she came in purring and wanting the attention of anyone who would give it to her.

We took her to the veterinarian for x-rays and were shocked at the severity of the fracture. Her leg was broken in two different places. She must have suffered a huge impact in order to cause such an injury. After suffering through surgery, which involved re-positioning the leg and securing it with a plate held in place with several screws, she came through with flying colours.

After her surgery, she is as friendly and lovely as ever. You would never know the pain and suffering that she must have endured so stoically.

Primrose is back now recovering at Burlington Humane and is the darling of all who meet her. She is a favourite of our staff and volunteers.

We have started a GoFundMe page to help with her ongoing expenses. You can help donate towards her recovery at: https://gofund.me/11569620.

Thank you for caring! We expect Primrose to make a full recovery, at which time we will start looking for her forever home.
