Burlington 'soul sisters' go into the blue to find inner peace

Local business is home to Ontario's first Blu Room experience

The Blu Room is an immersive healing experience, say Into the Blu owners Kim and Lindy Anderson.

Burlington is home to Ontario's first Blu Room® experience, a therapeutic environment that combines the elements of light and sound therapy.

Into the Blu is co-owned by Kim and Lindy Anderson, self-described soul sisters on a mission to support others on their path to inner peace and well-being.

There is a definite futuristic, sci-fi quality to the highly-polished stainless steel interior walls that help illuminate and reflect the soft blue LED light, and the room’s octagon-shape,used for its association with balance and harmony.

Lindy was the first to try a Blu Room, curious to see if it would help her understand her stress triggers and anxiety that seemed to loop consistently when feeling overwhelmed, and her experience in the Blu Room was profound. After five sessions, the relaxation she felt allowed for clarity and understanding, releasing past emotions that were causing the stress.

Kim became equally passionate about her Blu Room experiences, and since opening in August, 2019, hundreds in the Burlington community have experienced this amazing healing space.

“It is an immersive healing experience that can have a positive impact on a person’s spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental well-being. The magical combination of light, sound, sacred geometry, and numerology create a high vibrational space, completely separate from the outside world, that offer you a moment in time to press pause, regenerate, relax the nervous system, and feel very peaceful,” says Lindy.

Blu Room sessions typically last 20 minutes, but 40-minute sessions are available to extend the bliss factor. Lying comfortably clothed and wearing protective eye covers, you receive a burst of gentle narrowband UVB light while being guided to calm your thoughts and focus on an intention.

At the same time, music is played at a frequency of 432Hz or higher to help stimulate the imagination, concentration, and mental clarity.

It's beneficial to begin with a few deep, relaxing breaths. Focusing on breathing in through your nose and down into your belly helps the body get into the parasympathetic system for a deeper state of relaxation that allows access to parts of the brain that are not normally accessible.

Many people report various benefits, such as reduced anxiety, an uplifted mood, a heightened awareness, feeling energized yet balanced, pain reduction, increased clarity, and creativity.

“The design, sound, and lighting in the Blu Room is a magical combination, creating a positive atmosphere that encourages feelings of well-being and peace,” says Lindy. “The Blu Room provides a cocoon of safety insulating you from the outside world, allowing you to let go of stress and tension. As your mind is not responding to the everyday stressors, it is free to float, and some individuals may naturally enter a state associated with theta brainwaves, which is characterized by deep relaxation and heightened awareness.
