$300,000 damages in late-night fire in Shoreacres neighbourhood

Burlington Fire Department said there were no injuries

No one was injured following a house fire at Dunvegan Road last night.

Burlington Fire Department (BFD) was called to the home at 9:40 p.m. when smoke and flames were visible upon arrival. Two occupants were in the two-storey house, but managed to get out safely.

Multiple calls had been made to 911.

Some 26 firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about three hours; it appears to have started on the second floor balcony.

BFD suspects electrical failure as the cause.

The Shoreacres home is estimated to have $300,000 in damages.
