Visitors will have a chance to make a solar system mobile craft on Saturday after hearing from a science fair winner who enjoys all things related to the solar system.

Wholesome Storytime presents a super science star this Saturday.

The non-profit group that brings reading and families together (for children four and older) meets at the Orchard Community Hub, 2400 Sutton Dr., at St. Christopher Elementary School, every other Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

On March 30, Arushi Nath, a 14-year-old girl who became one of the top two winners at the 2023 Canada-Wide Science Fair. She will discuss, in very basic terms, her award-winning project and other aspects of our solar system.

For the craft, the children will make a solar system mobile.

Saturday’s yummy snack is Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Squares, apple, orange, coconut and water beverages will be available.

Reservations required: RSVP here.

Arush's project centred on one question: What would happen if a massive asteroid was on a crash course directly toward Earth? Would it hit us? Or could we stop it in its tracks?

Last May 18, she became one of two top winners at the 2023 Canada-Wide Science Fair in Edmonton, Alberta. She beat thousands of students from across the country to claim the prize; she did the same thing the prior year, making her the first student in more than 30 years to win a best project award two years in a row.
