Happy Lunar New Year! Burlington celebrates at community event

Families ring in the Year of the Rabbit with traditional Chinese arts, crafts and performances organized by Redleaf Cultural Integration

Happy Lunar New Year!

Local residents hopped down to the Burlington Performing Arts Centre Saturday (Jan. 21) to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit — a year which promises to be one of peace and relaxation, according to Chinese zodiac symbolism.

Organized by Redleaf Cultural Integration (RCI), the family-friendly event featured cultural demonstrations that were open to the community and dazzling performances of traditional Chinese dances and music.

Guests enjoyed sugar painting, calligraphy demos, paper crafts and much more.

Photographer Peter McCusker was on hand for all the festivities and we're happy to share his photos. Please enjoy!
