Burlington resident brings wealth of experience to role, including with Vancouver BIA during 2010 Winter Olympics

Maureen Healey is a Burlington resident who has established herself as an industry leader, Tourism Burlington says.

After an extensive search, the Tourism Burlington board of directors is pleased to welcome Maureen Healey to the executive director’s position effective immediately.

Healey is a Burlington resident and career association manager and destination marketing executive who has established herself as an industry leader. Her previous roles included vice president of the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (BIA) where she served 8,000 business members, managed a year-round business ambassador program and played a key role in the highly successful 2010 Winter Olympics.

Since returning to Burlington, Healey serves as a member of the Art Gallery of Burlington’s board of directors chairing its governance and nominating committee, and most recently held the role of executive director of the Bronte BIA where she has also chaired the Oakville COVID-created economic recovery and resiliency group.

Healey is a certified association executive (CAE), accredited business communicator (ABC) and a leader in place management (LPM) with some 16+ industry awards to her name. She just completed a term on the board of directors of the International Downtown Association (IDA) and chair role on the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) awards committee.
