Hudson Lockwood led Humber Hawks to college playoff final

Burlington’s Hudson Lockwood has been named an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association baseball all-star for the second time.

The Humber Hawks’ outfielder finished in the top 10 in the OCAA with 19 runs scored and was second in walks with 15. He batted .305, had a .481 on-base percentage and drove in 11 runs in 18 games to earn a spot on the OCAA second team.

The third-year sports management student has batted .344 with a .525 on-base percentage over his three years at Humber, scoring 45 runs in 48 games. He was a first-team all-star in 2022 after batting .362 and driving in 22 runs in 17 games.

Lockwood has elevated his game in the playoffs. Over his three years at Humber he batted .462 in 14 playoff games, scoring 15 runs with 14 RBI. In this year’s playoffs he hit .417 over five post-season games, scoring six times and driving in five more. With Humber facing elimination, Lockwood went 3-for-3 with two doubles, drove in three runs and scored three times as the Hawks edged Centennial 9-8 in extra innings.

Humber, following a 13-5 season, advanced to the OCAA championship game for the third straight year, but lost 12-2 to the St. Clair Saints.
