Sara Boucher celebrated a career milestone in style.
Playing in her 100th game for Mercyhurst University, the Burlington native scored three times to lead the Lakers to a 9-2 victory over Robert Morris last Friday. She added an assist in a 3-2 loss to Robert Morris on Saturday.
Boucher’s play earned her the College Hockey America forward of the week.
The hat trick was the seventh of Boucher’s college career, the second most in CHA history behind only three-time Olympic gold medalist Meghan Agosta.
The Notre Dame grad leads Mercyhurst with six goals and 12 points, which both rank second in the CHA.
Earlier this season Boucher, a second-team CHA all-star in each of her previous three collegiate seasons, assisted on Vanessa Upson’s goal in a 2-0 win over Post University to become the 17th player in Mercyhurst history to record 100 career points.
The Lakers’ captain ranks 13th on the school’s all-time goal list with 56 and 10th in points-per-game (1.07).
