Burlington's Kamba scores six tries in five games for Gee Gees

University of Ottawa second row player named U Sport's women's rugby player of the week

Burlington’s Ketsia Kamba scored three tries to lead the University of Ottawa Gee Gees to convincing 38-10 road win over the Concordia Stingers. Both teams entered the game ranked among the top eight in Canada.

Kamba’s play earned her the U Sports women’s rugby player of the week. The second row player has scored six tries in five games this season for Ottawa, which improved to 4-1 with its fourth straight win.

The Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School grad was a U Sports first-team all-Canadian in 2022 after leading Ottawa with eight tries and helping the Gee Gees take the bronze medal at the national championships. It was the third straight U Sports medal for Kamba and the Gee Gees since 2019, with a silver and two bronze.

The fourth-year communication and sociology student has also played for Team Ontario.
