Passed peacefully with family at his side on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Heather Jean (nee Gray) for 25 years; loving father of Paul and Shawn (Jennifer) and dear step father of Mark (Colleen) St. Louis; proud grandfather of Evika, Tristan, Abigail, Rebekah, Hannah, Brooklynn, Kaitlyn and Maggie; and dear brother of Frances and Shirley. Rodger will be deeply missed by all his extended family and by his many friends.

Rodger was a loyal employee of Texaco Canada and Imperial Oil Limited for 36 years. He was driving tank trucks before moving to Texaco’s head office as a Driver Trainer and Safety Representative. When Imperial Oil purchased Texaco Rodger was again moved, this time to Imperial Oil’s head office into the Corporate Securities Executive Protections Department. After retiring, Rodger directed his energy to serving and volunteering at the church and in his community.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Friday, May 3 from 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Salvation Army Community Church, 2090 Prospect Street Burlington on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Visiting will begin at 10:00a.m and the Service will begin at 11:00a.m. with reception to follow. A private family burial will take place at Burlington Memorial Gardens.

For those who wish, donations in Rodger’s honour to the Carpenter Hospice or Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
