March 24th, 1955 - April 27th, 2024

On Saturday, April 27, 2024 in his 70th year. Peter died unexpectedly, but peacefully at home. Predeceased by his parents Ian and Margaret Robertson. Much loved brother of Rev. Deacon Sheila Plant (the late David) with whom he resided. Dearly loved uncle of Andrew (Jenn) Plant. Will be greatly missed by his great nephews Adam Plant and David Plant and great niece, Heather Coghill. Remembered by lifelong friends, Alan and Hanne Bayliss. Peter is survived by his former wife Lorraine and son Mark and his children. Remembered by cousins both here and overseas.

In past years, Peter loved flying his radio-controlled aircraft and spent many happy years as part of the Dundas Flying Club. After he retired, he enjoyed doing odd jobs and taking on projects for Sheila. His knowledge and love of motorcycles was passed on to his nephew Andrew. For many years he loved spending Super Bowl Sunday with his friends at Joe Dog’s. After moving in with Sheila, he spent many a Sunday afternoon watching football and basketball. He loved March Madness and had a consistent record of picking the Final Four. He tolerated Sheila’s love of watching golf.

Peter was my little brother in age, but my big brother in life. We propped each other up many times in our lives and we got through those times. We will all miss his laughter, and his gentle nature, but most of all the love he showed to the family. Soar among the clouds, Peter, and live free for “You have slipped the surly bonds of earth.”

A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 2 in St. Luke’s Cemetery at 11am.

Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home
