Burlington vehicle broken into; police charge Mississauga man in connection

On Jan. 10 2024, at approximately 1 a.m. the Halton Regional Police  (HRP) received a 911 call for a high-end vehicle theft in progress in the area of Appleby Line and New Street.

Upon arrival, two suspects were observed fleeing on foot. Police searched the area, however the suspects escaped custody.

On March 6 2024, HRP searched a Mississauga residence where investigators seized vehicle break and enter tools, and vehicle master keys, as well as a quantity of suspected fentanyl.

As a result of the investigation Arshmit Peter (22), of Mississauga has been charged with the following:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of break and enter tools
  • Possession of vehicle master Keys
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

He was released from police custody and is to appear at Milton court on March 27.
