Downtown site reopens after police, emergency services present

Issue resolved, no threat to public safety, says HRPS

Halton Police secure the scene at the Esso station at Lakseshore Road and Locust Street on Sunday afternoon.

The area of Lakeshore Road and Locust Street in downtown Burlington has been reopened following an incident this afternoon (Nov. 6) that required the presence of police, fire and emergency services personnel.

“The incident has been resolved and there is no risk to public safety,” confirmed Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Acting Staff Sgt. Peter Bishop just after 5:30 p.m. 

According to a witness, Halton police, OPP, an ambulance and a fire truck arrived at the site near the Esso station on Lakeshore Road at about 4:30 p.m. and quietly asked people to leave the area. 

Few further details were available following the incident, due to privacy concerns for the individual involved.
