Thieves steal copper tubing from Burlington courthouse

Damage expected to exceed $5,000, say police

Thieves targeted copper copper tubing at the Plains Road East Provincial courthouse last week - and caused extensive damage in the process.

According to Halton Police communications, the incident took place sometime between Dec. 8 and 12. The suspects cut out the tubing that runs from the air conditioning units to the building.

Police say the value of the stolen tubing is about $10; however, the cost to repair the damage caused to the building and A/C units by is expected to exceed $5,000.

There are no suspects at this time; anyone with information can call Halton Police at 905-825-4777.
