Council decision to move popular annual event from Spencer Smith Park is 'self-serving'

BurlingtonToday received the following letter in response to city council's decision to force the Food Truck Festival to move from Spencer Smith Park.

My family will not be supporting small business in downtown Burlington after the decision to move the Food Truck Festival. This was self-serving of the small business association.

Food trucks are small businesses. This means 39,000 people will no longer walk through downtown Burlington.

I live on Pearl Street downtown. I will take my business somewhere else. Cry babies: poor decision; poor council decision. There's no hope of progress when you kill that much people traffic.

What's next - the Sound of Music Festival? Hmmm...they serve food there.

Let's cancel Council and the small business association.
