China, jewelry, furniture and more will be up for bids at this weekend's Joseph Brant Hospital Auxiliary auction.

From furniture and jewelry to art and vintage toys, there will be plenty of unique items up for grabs this weekend at the Joseph Brant Hospital Auxiliary Antique and Collectibles Auction.

The event, now in its 25th year, takes place at St. Christopher's Anglican Church (662 Guelph Line). Previews for the live auction take place Friday evening from 4 to 7 p.m.

The doors open at 9 a.m. Saturday for the live auction, which will be conducted by Ed Shafer of Shafer Auction Co. Ltd. Each bidder must register for a number and place their bid as the auctioneer calls out each item from the catalogue. According to the auction web page, items will be sold to the highest bidder and the final price will include the top bid, HST and a 10 per cent buyer's premium. All sales are final, and buyers must carry out their purchases they day of the auction.

The marketplace sale is a new addition to the fundraiser, and offers a way for everyone to find irresistible "priced to sell" items. Each item is individually priced based on their market value. Neither HST nor the buyer's premium is added to the price. Sales are on a first-come first-serve basis. Cash, credit or debit cards will be accepted. All sales are final. Buyers must carry out their purchases.

The marketplace sale takes place Friday, Sept. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Refreshments will be available on both days.
