Burlington Christian Academy online auction goes live this Friday

Burlington Christian Academy (BCA) is aiming high with its spring auction, with a target of raising $25,000 to create an outdoor learning area at the North Service Road JK-8  private school.

Organized by the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the online auction runs from May 3 to May 5. There are just over 200 items up for bids, ranging from gift cards to local shops and restaurants to unique packages such as a Walk Off the Earth “Superfan’s Dream”, vacation and golf passes and more. 

“From vacation and staycation experiences that promise unforgettable memories, to exclusive signed sports jerseys for the collectors, the auction caters to a wide range of interests and desires,” organizers said in a press release. “Not to mention the themed class baskets, gourmet food and beverage assortments, toys, family games night bundles, and much more that add to the vibrant selection.”

The money from the auction will be used to create an innovative outdoor learning area on the school’s unique property, which is surrounded by a conservation area and hiking trails.

“This fundraiser is not just about raising money, but about creating an enriching environment for our students to learn and grow,”  said BCA Principal Rob Lofthouse.

The sentiment was echoed by the enthusiasm and participation levels leading up to the event, say organizers.

“The dedication of our local businesses and sponsors, combined with the generosity of our families, has been truly inspiring,” said Lauren, the PTA president. “Together, we have shown what can be achieved when a school community shares a goal in the spirit of learning!”

The BCA auction is open to everyone. Community residents can click on the auction website to preview items. The bidding begins at 4 p.m. and Friday, May 3 and remains open until Sunday, May 5 at 9 p.m. Successful bidders will pick up their items the following week at the school (521 North Service Rd.).
