Burlington woman waits to share news of big lottery win

She kept it a secret until now and plans to pay some bills with her winnings

Melvina Thomas of Burlington knows how to pick ‘em. Her Daily Keno 8 Pick resulted in a $50,000 win in the April 20, 2024 midday draw.

Melvina, a 59-year-old mother and grandmother, says it’s an amazing feeling to experience her first big win.

She discovered her win when manually checking her numbers at home. “I thought, OMG! This is so great!” While at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings, Melvina shared that she kept the news of her win secret until now.

She plans to use her winnings to pay bills.
