An urgent call is being put out by the Partnering Aldershot Food Collection Committee for food items to help neighbours in need.

When you go to the grocery store, the committee is asking that you please consider buying these items, which they say are urgently needed:

  • Canned ham, canned tuna, canned chicken, Spam, canned salmon, and sugar.

You can drop off donations Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1881 Fairview St. in Burlington.

On Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. there is also a drive-thru drop-off food collection at 1216 Plains Rd. at St. Matthew on-the-Plains church.

The collection is being delivered to the Compassion Society of Halton.
