Christmas bazaars offer plenty of holiday cheer

Several local churches return to in-person format for holiday fundraisers

With Christmas less than two months away, holiday craft sales offer plenty of opportunities for local residents to get into the spirit of the season. Some festive events planned throughout this month include:

The East Plains United Church’s 47th annual Arts and Crafts Sale/23rd annual Silent Auction, Saturday, runs on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 375 Plains Rd. E. All welcome. 

Holy Rosary Parish is holding its Bell Bazaar Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 287 Plains Rd. East.  Visit the Country Kitchen, the craft  tables, the penny sale and more! There will be Lucky Dips for the kids, and a visit from Santa.

Grace United Church’s Candy Cane Traditions takes place Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2111 Walker’s Line.  The fun includes artisans offering a huge variety of items, Granny’s Attic next-to-new items, a silent auction and homemade baked goods - especially apple pies. 

St. Paul the Apostle (2265 Headon Rd.) hosts A Taste of Christmas  Nov. 5 and 6, following Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses. The fun features jingle bell raffles, homemade baked good, beef and barley soup, a wine raffle, crafts and more. 

Port Nelson United Church (3132 South Dr.)  is hosting the 70th anniversary edition of its annual Mistletoe Mart Saturday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors will be treated to a true Christmas Bazaar atmosphere: artisans, jewelry, knitting, sewing, baking, crafts, books, silent auction, collectibles and more. 

St. Patrick’s Church is hosting its Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parish hall at 196 Kenwood Ave. 

St. John’s Anglican Church’s Christmas Market runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2464 Dundas St. Featuring a bistro, baked goods and craft items.
