Aldershot's skyline may be changing in the near future, as a 29-storey mixed use building at 1026 Cooke Blvd. near Waterdown Road is being proposed.
Developer MHBC Planning designed the building with 335 residential units – a mixture of one-, two-, and three-bedroom options – and nearly 6,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor amenity space. The city received the complete application from Halton Standard Condominium Corporation.
An additional 370 square metres of retail space on the ground floor is also proposed, as well as four levels of underground parking totalling 318 spaces, and 190 bike parking spots.

The timeline for next steps for the development is not clear.
“Once an application has been received and deemed complete, staff then look it over so that they can present it to committee and Council, and eventually with a recommendation report,” John Bkila, media and digital communications advisor for the Office of the Mayor says.
The application was previously discussed during a pre-application community meeting on Oct. 11, and a Burlington Urban Design Advisory Panel meeting was held on Oct. 19.
MHBC has previously developed in Hamilton, Kitchener, and Guelph, and done municipal work for Grimsby, Collingwood, Cobourg, and several other towns around Ontario.
