The Burlington Historical Society invites local residents  to join them  on Monday, May 8 at 7 p.m. for their next public meeting.

The presentation will feature two exciting speakers. The evening will start off with Marsha Paley, chair of the Heritage Burlington subcommittee for the Burlington 2023-01-27-burlington-150-identifier_colour150+ celebration. She will speak about what's happening during Burlington 150+ Heritage Week Aug 4-13 and will touch on the July 1 Canada Day Burlington 150+ celebration. There will be a Q&A session with the audience.

The second presentation will be by Chris Mallion-Moore, the former Local History Librarian (postponed from March), with her research into the story of postcards exchanged  between two teenaged friends, one in Lowville and one in Freeman, in the time period of 1905 until 1914.

Lemonade will be provided, as the girls spoke of lemonade in their correspondence. Tea and cookies will also be available, and guests will have a chance to win a door prize!

All are welcome to attend what promises to be a fun and informative night.

The May 8 meeting takes place at 7 p.m. at  Burlington Central Library (2331 New St.) in the Centennial Room.
