Early morning fire tore through new development in Burlington

Burlington Fire, clean up crews still working at site of Koenig Road blaze

A Burlington Fire truck and personnel, Halton Police and clean up crews remain on the scene at Koenig Road this evening, after a fire ripped through several units early this morning.

The road, which runs east and west between Dundas Street and Thomas Alton Boulevard just west of Walkers Line, is in a newly developed area. Several homes on the north side of the street were damaged, along with at least two on the south side of the street. Most appear to be under construction.

Earlier this month, Burlington fire crews battled a fire at a new Millcroft townhouse development. The incident was reported at 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 2. Six townhomes were destroyed, and the damage was estimated at $3 million.

More to come.
