LETTER: Setting foot in Burlington city hall? Better watch your step

BurlingtonToday received the following letter to the editor from readers Anne and Dave Marsden in response to our story Updated Burlington City Hall ready to welcome customers.

While the new look city hall 1st floor may look welcoming, one needs to be careful of how you enter city hall.

We delegated today at City Hall on the Civic Square safety issues that have been a huge concern to us since 2019. Mini potholes and faded red paint markings on step downs that fade out the step are falls waiting to happen.

Falls can end lives, especially for the elderly. It is not going to change until 2026.

Please alert your readers to this situation and suggest they take the entrance pathways rather than walk through Civic Square.
