Teens rob Burlington Canadian Tire store, pull a knife on employee

The duo was found in the mall parking lot following the robbery.

A 17-year-old suspect charged with robbery is also charged with failure to comply with a probation order.

A pair of Hamilton teenagers are charged with robbery, after attempting to steal from the Canadian Tire on Fairview Street on Wednesday (Jan. 10). 

According to Halton police, the duo put several items in a bag and left the store without paying. An employee confronted the two, and was allegedly threatened with the handle of a knife. The teenagers then fled the scene on foot, say police.

Officers located the 17- and 18-year-olds in the parking lot of the mall. The older of the two suspects is charged with robbery, while the younger is charged with robbery and failure to comply with probation order. 

There were no injuries reported in connection with the incident.
