Jaiden Morgan gave a good indication of what was to come when she scored in the second minute of the Mohawk Mountaineers’ win over the Lambton Lions on Sept. 22.
By halftime, the Burlington forward had three goals and an assist. She then added two more goals and an assist before subbing out in the 74th minute of a 9-0 win.
The five-goal game was the first for a Mohawk player since 2011 and earned Morgan both the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association women’s soccer player of the week and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association athlete of the week. She is the second straight Burlington player to earn the honours, following Redeemer’s Emily Walraven the previous week.
Morgan, who played the previous two seasons at Prairie View A&M University in Texas, ranks fourth in the OCAA in goals with six and is fifth in points with 14.
Prior to her collegiate career, she won two provincial high school soccer titles at Notre Dame (2017, 2019).
