DAY, Shirley Agnes (nee Murray)

August 25th, 1928 - April 17th, 2024

Passed peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Rex Day; loving mother of the late Bryan (Susan) Day and Cindy (Brian) Van Horn; cherished grandmother of Christopher (Michelle), Jeremy (Lauren), Lauren, Sean (Tory), Kyle, Brianne, and Brendan; and great-grandmother of Leah, Cayden, Molly, Catie, Claire, Maple, Rose, and Stella. Predeceased by brothers Bruce (late Mary) and Ross (Willa). Survived by sister Lois (Peter).

Shirley was known for her warm, welcoming nature, and her devoted love for her family, who were her greatest pride and joy. To many, Shirley stood as a constant source of strength, selflessness, and unwavering support. While her love and invaluable wisdom will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A funeral service for Shirley will take place at Port Nelson United Church, 3132 South Dr., Burlington on May 4th at 11:00am. Reception to follow.
