PETTIT, George "Doug"

August 28th, 1939 -  April 20th, 2024

It is with heavy hearts we announce the loss of our dearest Doug who passed away at Golden Years Nursing Home, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the age of 84.

Devoted husband to Yvette Pettit (née Daigle) whom he has been lovingly married to for 58 years. Cherished father to Lisa Pettit, Alec Pettit and Annie (Dustin Holmes) Pettit. Proud grandfather to Rachel and Kate. Always remembered by his siblings Marilyn (the late Gerit) Vander Dussen and Donald (the late Eva) Pettit. Forever in the hearts of his extended family and friends across Canada. Predeceased by his parents George and Francis Pettit (née Davies). Doug may be gone from this world; however, he lives on in the stories and memories he has left with all those he touched during his lifetime.

As per Doug's wishes, and that of his family, a private cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday May 18, 2024 from 9-10 a.m., where the Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday May 18, 2024 at 10 a.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Crohn's Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
