Police services across the province, including the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), will be taking part in Crime Prevention Week, which runs from Nov. 6-12.

The week this year is themed 'Safer, Stronger, Together.'

The HRPS will highlight the role of the public in partnership with the service plays when it comes to the prevention of crime and will promote community safety and well-being via its social media platforms.

“Crime prevention is a shared responsibility that forms the foundation for safe communities,” said HRPS Chief Stephen Tanner. “Every resident of Halton has the right to live in a peaceful environment, free of crime and violence. Our Service is proud to work with members of the public and the communities we serve as we strive to achieve this fundamental goal.”

During the week, a number of collaborative initiatives between the public, community organizations, and the police will be featured across the Service’s social media platforms, including:

  • Crime Stoppers
  • Auxiliary Unit programs
  • Traffic safety and impaired driving
  • Fraud prevention and reporting
  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

To access this year’s campaign, as well as the latest HRPS-related news and information, members of the public are encouraged to follow us on Twitter (@HaltonPolice, @MiltHH, @HRPSOak, and @HRPSBurl) and Facebook (Halton Regional Police Service).
